Waterfall feature!

Well Family,

there was an exciting turn of events this past weekend. The week was pretty good, we taught a couple great lessons and tried a new way of teaching...well, not a new way, but instead of talking a little about our message when tracting we decided we were going to start teaching at the door of peoples homes. It works great and should continue to be better and better as we work out the bumps of trying a new thing. We managed to pull off two lessons with commitments to read and pray about the book of mormon and we got to pray with them, but didn't get any return appts.. We'll be working on how we can manage to do that...then we'll move on to a soft baptismal commitment at the door. (Soft baptismal commitment-when you come to know these things are true, would you be baptized?)So, back to my first statement. Training a new missionary isn't so bad, but walking into an appartment with water pouring out of the roof, through vents, and light fixtures a week and a half into the mission has got to be weird! On Saturday evening at 9:00 p.m. we opened our appartment door to a waterfall sound and flipped on the light to find...a waterfall in our appartment! We quickley grabbed our suitcases and filled them with our belongings and made a few calls to get things situated...only we couldn't find any maintenance or manager numbers anywhere and the people that lived near us weren't home, so we were in limbo. Finally, at about 10:45 p.m. we got a call from the appartment manager, who was furious with us because we didn't call him. Well, the story goes, a bathroom pipe had broken in the appartment above us and while we were out and about through the day, our appartment received all the water, which then ran to the neighboring appartment and into the parking lot, leaving us to sleep, or should I say, attempt to sleep on the floor of another set of missionaries appartment with no bed, blanket, or pillow. I now know what its like to feel homeless. Lucky for us we only had to stay in that appartment and live in our car for two nights. We are now staying at a member's home who have a full basement (kitchen, bathroom, own entrance). Good news of the weekend...we got an investigator to church, who is planning on bringing is family next week! I guess its not too bad, but the work did kind of hit a stand still for a little bit.(the pictures are of our appt. the next day)Well, I hope things are great at home!

Love you!-Elder Osness
